Cardi B reveals the satisfaction of Bodak Yellow dethroning Taylor Swift for top spot on charts

Cardi B's biggest money move is besting Taylor Swift on the charts.

The 25-year-old breakout hip-hop artist opened up about the milestone in a new interview with Billboard for the publication's 2017 Year In Music issue.

In it she said that she felt like the underdog when her single Bodak Yellow surpassed Swift's Look What You Made Me Do on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this fall. 

The New York City native noted that while she's a fan of Swift's shade-packed pop hit, she felt a sense of accomplishment prevailing in the face of the Grammy-winner's dominance.

'I really like that song, but it do make me feel good because Taylor Swift is freaking Taylor Swift,' Cardi B told Billboard, adding that Swift's ongoing chart-topping success is 'what she’s known for.

She added, 'It felt like I was doing it for the culture.'

Swift took the high road with the high-profile defeat of her single - which itself had ended the Luis Fonsi anthem Despacito's record-tying 16-week run at the top spot three weeks earlier - in sending Cardi B flowers after Bodak Yellow ascended to the number one position.

Cardi B thanked Taylor on Instagram, saying the flowers were 'sooo beautiful and lovely,' and telling her, ' I freaking love your music.'
